Whether you study B.Tech, BCA, MCA, B.Sc IT or a related degree, begin with a clear plan: understand the prerequisites, inspect the syllabus, discuss academic documentation and choose work you can explain confidently. Share your degree, semester, preferred schedule and prior experience, and a counsellor will help you check whether the format fits your university timetable.

02 — Overview

What is a six-month Software Testing internship?

The purpose of a six-month internship and industrial training programme is to connect academic concepts with practical work. Useful testing training does not start with a Selenium script; it starts with reading a requirement and asking what could go wrong. Good testers think in risks, boundaries and user journeys, then decide what to check by hand, what to automate and what to leave out. You practise designing test cases, reporting defects a developer can act on, and building automation that stays reliable when the application changes.

Students in Chandigarh search for manual testing summer training, Selenium automation training with projects, software testing industrial training, QA internship for final semester, API testing with Postman training or six-week software testing training. These describe overlapping but different needs — this page explains the experience in plain language so you can ask the right questions before registering.

03 — Who can apply?

Start from where you are

Admission guidance considers your readiness, not just your degree. A first-year learner may need more guided exercises; a final-year student may be ready for an independent project. Check that your institution permits the format for any compulsory training requirement.

B.Tech CSE and IT students

Start with a review of testing principles, then move quickly into automation framework design, API testing and CI pipelines.

BCA students

Start with manual testing and test design techniques, then add Java or Python step by step for automation.

MCA students

Start with a review aimed at framework architecture, test strategy and maintainable automation code.

B.Sc IT and Computer Science students

Start with the testing life cycle and SQL for data checks, then build up to Selenium and Postman.

Diploma and polytechnic students

Start with hands-on exploratory testing and bug reporting on real web pages, with programming introduced gradually.

ECE, Mechanical, Civil and other branches

Start from your strength in careful, systematic checking and learn to apply it to software, with programming taught from basics.

04 — Why six months?

Room to iterate, specialise and build a larger project

A six-month schedule gives you time to grow from manual tester to someone who can design and maintain a test framework. You can build UI and API suites, add behaviour-driven tests, run them in a CI pipeline, try performance and basic security checks, and refine your strategy after reviewing flaky tests and missed defects.

Whether six months counts as an internship depends on the supervised-work arrangement and your university's rules. What it does give you is time to build confidence through milestones, feedback and honest reporting of mistakes.

05 — Software Testing specialisations

What the track covers

The goal is to make informed choices — not to reach for the most fashionable tool by default. Availability and depth depend on the programme duration and the published batch syllabus.

Testing fundamentals

SDLC, STLC, testing levels and types, and Agile ways of working.

Test design

Equivalence partitioning, boundary values, decision tables and state transitions.

Manual and exploratory testing

Test cases, session-based exploration and usability observations.

Defect management

Clear bug reports, severity and priority, and tracking in Jira.

Web UI automation

Selenium WebDriver, Playwright or Cypress, waits and Page Object Model.

Test frameworks

TestNG, JUnit or pytest, assertions, fixtures and data-driven tests.

API testing

Postman collections, environments and automated checks in code.

Performance testing

Load concepts, JMeter scripts and reading response-time results.

Continuous testing

Running suites in GitHub Actions, reporting and handling flaky tests.

Six months leaves room for hands-on depth in framework design, Playwright or Cypress, API automation, BDD with Cucumber, JMeter, security awareness and CI pipelines.

06 — Syllabus & learning roadmap

Week-by-week learning roadmap

This is the planned framework for the six-month Software Testing track. Trainers adapt lesson order, lab hours, prerequisites and assessments for each batch — ask for your batch's current syllabus.

A six-month track gives you time to revise an approach after feedback rather than complete one-off demonstrations. Assessment emphasises the quality of your test design, the clarity of your defect reports and the reliability of your automation, not the number of scripts you write.

How every week runs

Test charter

Before testing, a short charter: the feature, the risks, the techniques you will use, what is in and out of scope and how you will decide when you have tested enough.

Practical tasks

Manual execution, defect logging and automation in a repository that runs from a clean clone, with test data and setup steps documented.

Weekly deliverables

Executed test cases with results, defect reports, passing automation runs with reports and a progress note suitable for an academic supervisor.

Mentor discussion

One real trade-off each week — automate versus test by hand, UI versus API checks, coverage versus run time, retrying a flaky test versus fixing it — argued with evidence.

Quality gate

Review of test case clarity, bug report quality, locator strategy, waits, assertions and duplication; a peer runs your suite and reports anything that failed for the wrong reason.

Reflection

The most interesting defect you found, one you missed, an assumption that changed and next week's question.

07 — Course vs internship

Know what you are signing up for

A course usually follows a planned teaching syllabus and assesses the skills you acquire. An internship ordinarily involves work responsibilities, supervision, defined tasks and feedback in an organisational setting. Both can include projects.

We don't use the word internship to imply employment or client assignments where none exist. Ask us for the actual activity description, supervision model, expected hours and the documents provided.

08 — Internship vs industrial training

Naming varies by institution

Industrial training is a term many technical programmes use for a structured practical learning period. Internship may refer to supervised workplace experience. Neither label alone guarantees university approval.

Share your college's official guidelines, required minimum days, assessment format, attendance expectations and project-report template before enrolling — and we will confirm in writing what we can deliver.

09 — Real-world & portfolio projects

Eight Software Testing project briefs

Each project begins with a requirements document or user stories for a practice application, from which you produce a risk list, a test plan and test cases using named design techniques. You execute manually first, report defects, then automate the stable, high-value checks at the right level — API before UI where possible. The aim is to learn how testing decisions are made, not to record and replay clicks.

You deliver a test plan, a traceability matrix, executed test cases, a set of reproducible bug reports, an automation repository with a README and test reports, a Postman collection where relevant, and a presentation explaining your risk assessment, coverage, what you chose not to automate and the gaps that remain.

11 — University & college requirements

Check your handbook first

Students from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and nearby Punjab or Haryana campuses face different academic rules. Some departments ask for an NOC, joining letter, attendance log, midterm review, completion certificate, project synopsis, supervisor feedback or a final viva.

Ask us which documents are available for your programme and who signs them. No training provider can promise acceptance by every university, so get written approval from your faculty coordinator before paying. Where college formats differ, documents are prepared to match the agreed programme.

12 — Duration & batches

A six-month learning window

The learning window is six months. Ask for your batch's start date, session hours, holidays, assessment dates, delivery mode and location.

If you travel from Mohali, Panchkula, Zirakpur or other nearby areas, check the exact venue and your commute before you commit.

13 — Fees & eligibility

Everything in writing before you pay

Ask for a current written fee table: whether taxes, lab access, materials, project reviews, retests or documentation cost extra, plus payment deadlines, refund terms and prerequisites.

This is a fee-based training programme — not a free, paid or stipend-based internship.

14 — Career opportunities

Directions the skills can lead

These are illustrative directions, not promises of job eligibility or placement. Study real job descriptions, build evidence of your skills and keep learning after the programme.

Manual test engineer trainee

15 — Certifications & deliverables

Know exactly what you receive

Deliverables include your documented project work, a portfolio or repository, a presentation, an evaluation rubric and a training completion record. Ask us for the exact certificate title, issuer, criteria and format.

A completion certificate does not by itself establish employment, a stipend, an approved university internship or a vendor certification.

16 — Why choose techcadd Chandigarh?

Judge us on what you can verify

Look for published learning outcomes, practical lab time, trainer feedback, transparent schedules, clear assessment criteria and student support.

Ask to see curriculum samples, project examples and faculty profiles. That evidence is worth more than any "best institute" claim.

17 — Student success stories

Genuine, permission-based stories only

A useful case study names the student's programme and stage with consent, explains the starting challenge, shows permitted work and describes a specific skill gained — never invented quotes, employers or salaries.

All FAQs

Six months is enough for strong manual skills, a maintainable UI and API automation framework and CI experience, but professional depth keeps growing with real projects.

Yes — that is the most common timing. Confirm dates, attendance and any academic recognition with your department before enrolling.

Performance testing with JMeter is covered hands-on; security testing is an awareness module, not a penetration testing course.

Testing fundamentals, test design techniques, manual and exploratory testing, defect management in Jira, SQL, Java or Python basics, Selenium, Playwright or Cypress, API testing with Postman, performance basics and CI — see the roadmaps on this page.

Not for manual testing. Automation needs programming, which is taught from basics in Java or Python. A counselling discussion places you at the right starting point.

You need both. Manual and exploratory testing build the judgement about what to test; automation makes repeatable checks fast. The programme starts with manual and adds automation.

Both work well. Java is very common in existing enterprise frameworks with TestNG; Python with pytest is concise and quick to learn. Ask us which language your batch uses.

Yes, as a second tool after Selenium, so you understand the differences in architecture and waiting. Confirm which one your batch uses.

Yes. BCA students usually start with manual testing and test design, then add programming for automation.

Yes. Students from electronics, mechanical, civil and other branches often do well at systematic checking; programming for automation is taught from fundamentals.

Testing needs curiosity, attention to detail and clear writing as much as coding. If you enjoy finding where things break and explaining why, it can be a good fit — but automation still involves writing code.

Yes. You test REST APIs with Postman, run collections with Newman and automate API checks in code.

The fundamentals covered overlap with common certification syllabi, but the programme is not a certification course and does not include an exam. Check the certifying body's own syllabus if you plan to sit one.

Training projects on practice applications and synthetic data — see the eight project briefs on this page. Ask for a sample rubric and previous anonymised work.

Through test case reviews, bug report quality, automation code reviews, test run results, documentation and a final presentation.

It depends on the duration, format and services. Ask for a written quotation covering taxes, payment terms and refund conditions.

Compare the actual syllabus, the balance between manual and automation work, how your test cases and code are reviewed, project feedback, batch size and written policies.

Institutions use the words differently. A training course teaches structured skills; an internship usually involves supervised work on defined tasks. Ask us for a written description of the actual experience.

Ask us exactly which document is issued. A training completion certificate is different from an employer-issued internship experience letter.

No. Ask what career support is offered, and don't rely on any placement claim without evidence.

It can support planning and implementing a project, but check your university's project requirements and the assistance it permits.

Projects are guided portfolio projects. We only call a project live or client-based when there is genuine, authorised external work.

Confirm the classroom address, delivery mode and trainer availability with us before you travel or pay.

Ask whether online, hybrid or offline formats are offered for your batch.

One is useful for practice. Ask about the lab setup, software requirements and whether a personal device is required.

A term some colleges use for an approved practical training period. Requirements vary by university and programme.

Yes. Consider the commute to the training location shown on this page.

Send an enquiry with your degree, semester, preferred duration, existing skills and contact details, and we'll send a confirmed syllabus and terms.
